Madison Fiedler is a playwright from North Carolina. Her play SPAY (script + licensing available with Concord Theatricals), premiered at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble in 2022 (directed by Georgette Verdin), won the 2023 M. Elizabeth Osborn Award, and was honored as a nominee for the 2022 Jeff Award for Best New Work and the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, runner-up for the Princess Grace Awards Playwriting Fellowship and Jane Chambers Playwriting Award, and finalist for the Harold and Mimi Steinberg/American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award; it also appeared on the Kilroys List and in the National Showcase of New Plays. Upcoming productions: American Lives Theatre. Her play SCREECH OWL was recognized as a finalist for the Leah Ryan Fund, Playwrights Realm’s Writing Fellowship, Henley Rose Playwright Competition for Women, and Theater J’s Patty Abramson Jewish Play Prize. Her other work has been developed with and/or presented by Studio Theatre, Westport Country Playhouse, Bedlam, Barter Theatre, tall poPpy, Fault Line Theatre, Actor’s Express, BoHo Theatre, and IRT Theater. Residencies & conferences: Willapa Bay AiR (fall 2023), Roundabout Theatre Company (2022 & 2023 Space Jam) and Sewanee Writers’ Conference (2021 Romulus Linney Playwriting Scholarship). She is a National New Play Network Affiliated Artist & a member of the Dramatists Guild. BA: Northwestern University. She lives in Brooklyn.

Most recently, her play THIS IS WHAT THE DAYS ARE was part of Bedlam’s Do More New Plays reading series, directed by Francesca Sabel and featuring Moe Angelos, John Behlmann, Kayli Carter, Peter Francis James, Deidre Staples, and Nicole Villamil.
